Summer Fridays’ First-Ever Fragrance Bottles Sunshine

This month, the brand behind your favorite lip balm is officially launching their first fine fragrance: Sunlit Vanilla Eau de Parfum. Available in two sizes, a travel-friendly 10 mL and a full-size 50 mL bottle, the scent is described as “cozy, yet radiant” and designed to “linger on your skin like sunshine to make it feel like a summer Friday, all year long.”

The Inspiration

When creating their first fragrance, vanilla was an obvious focus for co-founders Marianna Hewitt and Lauren Ireland. It's been with the brand since the beginning.

“Scent and flavor have always been at the heart of Summer Fridays. We've loved vanilla since we launched our original Lip Butter Balm in Vanilla in 2020. With many new flavors and shades over the years, it sparked a love for gourmand from our community that's stayed with us ever since,” they shared in a press release.

Back in 2021, the brand released a limited-edition vanilla rollerball perfume as a holiday exclusive. Ever since, they've heard cries of “bring it back” from original fans.

So, here's the perfume is in its final form: a “cozy, yet radiant” scent “inspired by the endless summer feeling.”

The Scent

Sunlit Vanilla has a top note of bergamot that transitions to a heart of caramel and coconut. At its base, you'll find vanilla (of course), creamy musk, tonka bean, and amber.

“We've long dreamed of creating something that captures the nostalgia of a sweet summer memory. Sunlit Vanilla is that feeling bottled… warmth, comfort, and the ease of Summer Fridays in a fragrance,” the founders added. “We set out to create an elevated, sophisticated vanilla, not just a gourmand you think of wearing in the winter, but something effortlessly wearable all year round.”
